Jinn in the Islamic tradition
Creatures mentioned in the Quran, with a whole surah devoted to them.
Jinn are invisible creatures mentioned many times in the Quran, which devotes a whole surah to them: Surah al-Jinn (72).
وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ
And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.
Surah ar-Rahmân, 55:15
Translation to be validatedAccording to the tradition, jinn, like humans, are responsible for their actions: some are believers, others are not (Surah al-Jinn, 72:11 and 14). The Quran also reminds us that humans and jinn were created to worship Allah (Surah adh-Dhâriyât, 51:56).
A measured approach
Belief in the existence of jinn is part of the Muslim faith. This does not mean that every difficulty is caused by them. Abdelaziz welcomes each person attentively, without hasty conclusions, and stresses the importance of medical follow-up when symptoms call for it.
